I had a baby

Yep. Well, technically, my wife had a baby. Aurelia Noelle Woolhouse. But before I talk about the baby, I have to talk about the wife . . .
Gina is my new hero. Really. If she were on a T-Shirt and had action figures of her likeness, I would totally buy them on eBay. For her to not only carry the little girl for nine months, and then spend 13-and-a-half horrible, soul-crushing hours of torture pushing her out is nothing short of extraordinary. Now, I know that between 10 and 100 billion people have been born in the existence of man (depending on your particular religious belief) and that we all pretty much more or less came into the world the same way . . . but seeing my petitite 5'2" 108 lbs. (pre-pregnancy weight) soulmate do it in person was amazing. I didn't even mind that she yelled at me, telling me to "shut up" on several occassions, even when I wasn't talking.
And when they say that thing about "pushing a watermelon out of a hole the size of a small plum" they aren't lying. Although my baby is not watermelon size, she is more a cantaloupe-with-several-bunches-of-carrots-for-a-body size.
Now, onto my baby. Aurelia Noelle Woolhouse (named after a character in the movie Love Actually. The middle name is just so her initials spell "ANW" or photonetically "A&W," my favorite root beer.)
She was born November 20th, 2006 (yes, more then a week ago) at 3:23am. It was great, I got to stay up all night. I didn't sleep for more then 36 hours during this period. It was like college! Just about as expensive, too. Sigh. But I'd pay anything to have my daughter in my hands. It was love at first sight . . . even though that first site involved lots of blood and goo and stuff.
For more pictures, there is a very small picture-thing that is linked on the front page of www.damnyoubanana.com so go there. And enjoy the rest of the site as well.
Oh, Gina- aka Mommy- is doing fine. Me- aka Sweet Daddy Dubya- hurt my back a few days ago. While bending over to get a change of clothes for my baby (because she likes to pee after I take off her diaper. She's gotten good at it. This particular time she peed, and I had the foresight to keep the diaper there to catch it. So, when she was done, I took the diaper way. Then she peed again, and it got all over. She's amazing!) Anyway, I bent over to get a change of clothes and my back cracked, then locked, and I basically fell over into the fetal position on the floor. It was . . . great. And now I get to go back to work. Hurrah.
OK, I'm done.
